Ready to paint? A little colour psychology may be just what you need to create soothing and productive moods. The colours of the rooms in your home are a direct reflection of your personality. While most of us may not spend a lot of time thinking about that, it affects us every day. Colour can influence our moods and our thoughts.

Take each room one by one

Keep in mind that each color has a psychological value. Think about how certain colors make you feel; they can influence any emotion, from tranquility to rage. To create peace and harmony in your home, choose your colors wisely; some colors in large amounts might have the opposite effect on you and your loved ones.

Consider the amount of time you spend daily in each one of these spaces as well as the activities that will take place in that room. Be more intentional about your surrounding that somehow affects your mood.

Note the time of the day where sunlight enters the room, it is morning, afternoon or not at all? A room that doesn’t catch much light might benefit from being painted a bright colour and to be decorated with brighter colours

What is the size and the area of the room? As a general rule, bright colours give the feeling of more space while the darker colours makes the space look smaller.
